when the NC computers get around to processing your file, they will respond. This first week has a heavy load and they won't do them all on the same day.

As to when they will debit...it depends on the date you entered into the software...and it may still take them a week after the date they actually accept your e-file (IF they accept it). OF course, if you put in a March or April date...then it won't happen until then...but you need to watch closely to make sure it happens....
TurboTax won't know if the debit is rejected for any reason...the software gets no feedback from the state as to whether the debit has occurred.
Print out your tax returns (Or download the PDF and look at it) and look at the NC Electronic Filing Instructions worksheet to see what you entered for your NC-Debit payment.
