Sorry, but there is no easy way to do that without starting a new account.
The software assumes the first person listed is the person preparing the tax return.......and in Your situation , you cannot switch the positions between the two of you.......doing so will mess up your tax file in a major way.
You can file with him listed for for 2016, but for 2017 Next spring), you should start a brand new account with a new UserID and password. (and you won't want to transfer your data from your 2016 file to 2017 either....that will screw things up)

make sure you download PDF copies of all your old tax returns from this account this summer when things quiet down...because after October, you may not get free access to those old files (and please back them up into an offline memory stck or CD)
