After you file

No.  You do not need to amend your return. It will not make a difference for this year since she was 18.  At 18, she is still a qualifying child without regards to disability. 

 

 If you were going to take the Child and Dependent Care credit, then this would be an issue as a child must be under 13 for that credit.  

For next year,  be sure to check the box that says she is disabled if she qualifies as disabled per the IRS guidelines.  Otherwise, if she is not a student or disabled and turns 19 in 2026, she would not be considered a qualifying child.
