Since you said "check", did you choose to receive a paper check in the mail?
If you efiled the state return and are sure it was accepted, then you can check on a state refund with your state's refund lookup tool.

Otherwise, if that's not successful, or if you need more info about a delay in processing, you'll need to phone your state tax agency and speak to someone there. Or if the state has mailed a paper check that you didn't receive, you'll need to talk to them.
