After you file
You should enter your 1099-DIV and 1099-INT for 2024 into TurboTax. If you have some forms that were carried over from 2023, you can delete them and enter your new ones, if I am understanding your question correctly.
Make sure you are in your 2024 program if you are using TurboTax Desktop.
This is how to do it for a 1099-INT, but it will work the same for a 1099-DIV, just change the INT to DIV.
To delete a Form 1099-INT For TurboTax Desktop:
- Open/continue your return
- Click on "Search"
- And in the search bar type"1099-INT"
- Select "Jump to 1099-INT"
- It'll take you to a screen that shows your Form(s) 1099-INT that you have entered.
- Next to the Form 1099-INT you want to delete, click on the (down-Facing) caret
- Click on the "garbage can" to delete this form
To delete a Form 1099-INT for TurboTax Online:
- Open/continue your return
- Click on magnifying glass for Search in the top right of your screen
- And in the search bar type"1099-INT"
- Select "Jump to 1099-INT"
- It will take you to a screen that shows your Form(s) 1099-INT that you have entered.
- Next to the Form 1099-INT you want to delete, click on the (down-Facing) caret
- Click on the "garbage can" to delete this form
You can enter your Form 1099-INT into TurboTax as follows:
- Click on "Search" at the upper right of your screen.
- Enter "1099-INT"
- Select "Jump to 1099-INT"
- Answer "Yes" to "Did you have investment income in 2024?"
- Select "Skip Import" on the screen that asks "Let Us Enter Your Bank and Brokerage Tax Documents"
- Select the box that says "Interest 1099-INT" (the box will turn green with a checkmark on it)
- And "Continue"
- Enter your 1099-INT information and select "Continue"
- Answer the follow-up screens about your interest
