After you file
thanks for the feedback fanfare!
My guess is that I was not clear with my issue, and also not clear with the purpose of 8949s.
So, here is my attempt to explain the situation again :-
1. I have a few brokerage statements imported into TT via the import facility, each of which have individual security sale transactions (which also got imported smoothly);
2. I also have a few brokerage statements (where I have many transactions), which I did not want to import as the transactions make the TT unweildy and slow, and therefore I manually entered the totals (summaries) into TT, with the assumption that I will send the statements to the IRS;
3. Now after getting the returns completed, I wanted to see the various summary transactions rolling up into the Sched D numbers, and the 8949s were the only forms that showed me the indiv transactions and the summaries. This is where I was confused as not all the summary transactions were there, and hence the question.
Not sure if I am making sense.
Appreciate your response.
