If you used the 2023 Desktop installed program it can not be updated to 2024. You need to buy a new program each year or use the Online version. Online is only good for the current year. You can Transfer your 2023 return into 2024.
Your question isn’t clear. What did you do? Do you need to file a 2023 return? Or you entered 2023 info into the 2024 Online version?
