I discovered that one of the links at the first FAQ I gave above doesn't work and doesn't actually take you to the wording of the Moneyback Guarantee, so I provided an additional link that does take you to the EULA where you can search for the relevant paragraph which I also pasted above. Since the refund request asks for your license code, I suspect they would inactivate it and ask you to delete the software as further described in the EULA. So that would mess up the ability to access and continue with your current return.
If you wish instead to lodge an official complaint about your experience and seek relief, you can contact the office of the President of Intuit at the link below, and they will hopefully be able to come up with some resolution for you that allows you to keep using the product. It says there that they will get back to you within one business day.
