After you file
Yes you can amend. However, don't do anything, wait until you find out if your return is accepted or rejected by the IRS.
If you receive an acceptance, it would then be best to wait until you
actually receive your refund (or the IRS cashes your payment) Then you
can prepare, Print and Mail an amended return (form 1040-X)
If you receive a rejection, you can simply add your additional/changed information at the same time you correct the cause(s) for rejection, and re-submit your e-file.
Any changes you make at this time will NOT be seen by the IRS e-file. IRS restriction = you CANNOT e-file an amended return.
Also note that the 1040-X form WILL NOT be available until after 2/12/15
