Should be there. Mine have never disappeared on a Windows computer in over 20 years.
.......unless you are saving them to a cloud drive, where you have to log in there to find them.....or perhaps on a USB-connected remote drive?
Always save your files to your system disk as the primary location, and only use USB-remote or cloud drives for backups.
