After you file
@raereneewatkins- When Social Security is your ONLY income you do not have to file a tax return. But if you are filing a joint tax return with other sorts of income on the return, then ALL income including Social Security has to be entered. Or....even if you file married filing separately----your spouse who only had SS would have to file a return and enter the SS---and pay tax on it.
Please clarify for us-----what other income was entered on your tax return? Is it a joint return?
