If your only income is Social Security you are not required to file a tax return --- and you would not receive a refund unless you had tax withheld from the SS. Not sure what you entered into Credit Karma. But ---before you pay to use any tax software-----what income besides Social Security do you have? Is tax being withheld from any of your income?
