After you file
Was the 2021 e-filed tax return rejected by the IRS?
If so, it more than likely was for the 2020 AGI that was entered to e-file return. Since the 2021 tax return can no longer be e-filed the 2020 AGI is not needed.
You will have to print and mail the tax return, it cannot be e-filed.
To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Start the 2023 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.
On the Tax Home webpage -
Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year 2021 and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
You will have to print, sign, date and mail the return to the IRS. Include with the Form 1040 all other forms and schedules which have an Attachment Sequence Number located in the upper right corner of the form or schedule. Include any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld on the form.
