It is never a good idea to try and have your tax refund sent to someone else's account.   Most often, the deposit will be refused and sent back to the IRS.  Then it will take weeks for the IRS to issue a paper check and mail it to you.   Instead of chancing that, either just choose to have a check mailed to you or open a bank account ahead of tax time.  This is only December.  You have time to go to a brick and mortar bank and open an account to use for your refund and/or other financial matters.
