You don't have to create a new tax return, but you can no longer finish your 2021 tax return in TurboTax Online. You have to use the CD/Download TurboTax software for 2021.

Tax returns for past years cannot be e-filed. You will have to print your 2021 tax return, sign it, and file it by mail.
