Turbotax most likely did not pick up the $22K extension payment you made since it doesn't assume non - electronic payments are made (you mailed a check with the 1040-V correct)? you need to enter that in the tax payments worksheet
line 21 of the 1040X should be 3000.
line 16 of the 1040x should show 22000
- Open or continue your return
- Go to the Federal section, then Deductions & Credits
- Select Other Income Taxes
- Select Payments with 2022 Federal Extension
- Enter the amount of extension payment
