After you file
Ok ... when you use the downloaded program you have to save the .taxfile to your computer yourself. When you close the program it will ask if you want to save the return ... so did you save it and where did you save it ? For the program to open the return the .taxfile must be on the same hard drive as the program and in the same user account.
If you employed a CPA to complete the return then they should be able to send you a PDF of the return if they have not yet done so. The CPA who signed your return could not use the DIY TT program ... they had to use their own professional program. You will not be able to open any .taxfile from a professional program (even if the CPA could/would be able to send you one) using any TT program.
