@vickikay70 I think you are confused about tax years and the year in which you file a tax return for income received.

 

A 2020 tax return would have been prepared and filed in 2021----for income received during 2020.

 

A 2021 tax return would have been prepared and filed in 2022-----for income received in 2021.

 

The tax returns folks are preparing now are for tax year 2022---the tax year that ended on December 31, 2022.  Only income received in 2022 goes on that tax return.

 

If you do not have an AGI for 2021 because you did not file a 2021 tax return, then try using zero in order to e-file 2022.   If zero does not work then print, sign and mail your 2022 tax return.
