After you file

First---TurboTax does not send you a check.  Ever.  Refund checks do not come from TurboTax.

If your direct deposit was sent from the IRS to a closed bank account, the refund goes back to the IRS and then the IRS issues and mails a check to the address on your tax return.  That will delay your refund for several weeks.

If you used refund processing, so that a third party bank could take your TurboTax fees from your federal refund, and the refund went to a closed bank account, then the third party bank has to handle the confusion.  The third party bank might eventually mail you a check, or they might send the refund back to the IRS and you wait again for the IRS to issue and mail you a check.  Either way, your refund will be delayed.   We cannot tell you how long it will be delayed.  TurboTax has no control.
