@bluerose1011 Yes----if you mean you opened a bank account AFTER you filed your tax return, you cannot have your refund deposited to that account.   You have to give banking information BEFORE you file the return.   If you did not enter any banking information when you sent in your tax return, then the IRS will mail a check to the address you used on your tax return.   Watch your mailbox and open all mail, even if you think it looks like junk mail.

 

Then when the check comes, you can deposit the check in to your new bank account yourself.
