What box was checked wrong? what was the error?
If you claimed too much on 1040 line 30 for the Recovery Rebate Credit the IRS took it off. They know how much they sent you. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more. The IRS is usually right. There is nothing to amend. Unless you need to amend for something else that might affect line 30. Like add a dependent.
