After you file
TurboTax does not get any information from the IRS when they change your refund. Since there seems to be some mixup involving form 8812 and the stimulus, I wonder if you entered something incorrectly for the stimulus or child tax credit. Lots of people have been very confused and have made mistakes. Letter 6419 was sent to people who received advance child tax credit payments between July and December. The amount received was supposed to be entered for the child tax credit and form 8812. Some people got confused and entered stimulus amounts there----did you do that?
Letter 6475 was sent to people who received stimulus checks of $1400 per person for the 3rd EIP payment. You were supposed to enter the amount of your 3rd EIP payment in Federal Review for the recovery rebate credit. If you did not enter it correctly, you could have ended up with an amount on line 30 of your Form 1040 that you really should not be getting again.
Your letter from the IRS will explain further. Meanwhile, check your IRS online account for more information on how much the IRS says you received for the stimulus checks. You said "we" -- so if you filed a joint return check accounts for each of your Social Security numbers.
