If you owe federal tax due then your proof that you paid will be your own bank or credit card record showing the payment you made. You do not need to check on the refund site. You just need to pay your tax due by the deadline of April 18, 2022.
If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.
