You may want to check your original W-2 entries on your federal return. If your company sent you two different W-2s, one for the MD wages and one for the SD wages, but the federal information shows the total for both states, you will want to report this on only one W-2. Otherwise, your federal wages and withholdings will be double reported. To do this, enter your W-2 as it appears for one of your states, and then click Add another state beneath box 15 on the W-2 entry screen. Then include the second state on that same W-2. Erase the second W-2 by clicking the trashcan next to it.
