After you file
Yes, You can file Form 8379 with your joint return or amended joint return (Form 1040-X), or you can file it afterward by itself.
If you file Form 8379 separately, please be sure to attach a copy of all Forms W-2 and W-2G for both spouses, and any Forms 1099 showing federal income tax withholding, to Form 8379. The processing of Form 8379 may be delayed if these forms are not attached, if the form is incomplete when filed, or if you attach a copy of your previously filed joint return.
To get back into TurboTax

Sign in to TurboTax.

Under Your tax returns & documents, select Show, and then select 2021.

Now select Add a state (this reopens your return).

Select State from the left menu (on mobile devices, tap in the upper-left corner to open the menu).

On the Let's get your state taxes done right screen, select Continue and follow the instructions.

Do Not amend your return

Go back and post your new information.
With your return open, select the State Taxes tab near the top. This will take you to the state section and you can proceed from there.
To file Injured Spouse in TurboTax:

Open or continue your return.

Go to Other Tax Situations
-
Scroll down and select Other Tax Forms

Report an injured or innocent spouse claim

Yes to Do you want to claim innocent or injured spouse relief? and carefully follow the onscreen instructions.

Please be aware that when you get to the

Tell Us More About Your Situation screen, in order to meet all qualifications to file the form,

the box I am not required to pay the past due amount must apply to you. If so, check the box.

Note: Pay close attention to the screens, as some of them apply to innocent spouse relief, which is different. Leave those questions blank if you only want to claim injured spouse relief.
