You cannot use the Pay with Refund option if you want a paper check. If you did choose this option, then click on File on the left side of the online program screen. On Step 1 click on Revisit and then click on View Payment options. Choose Pay with Credit Card. And follow the next procedure.
Otherwise click on File and on Step 2 click on Revisit. On the screen How would you like to receive your federal refund? Click on See other options Select Paper check
