After you file
@Softballmomma13 I just looked back at some of your previous posts, including one in which you say that you are usually a "non-filer". Then you submitted a 2019 return that was incorrect, and later amended it. It is not clear what you did with a 2020 return---but apparently you have recently amended that one too. If you did not have income from working in 2020 then you will not get the child tax credit for 2020. On a 2020 return, the CTC is only given to you if you had income from working.
That changes for the enhanced child tax credit for 2021. Even if you did not work, if you have an eligible dependent child then you can get the CTC as part of your refund on your 2021 tax return. So make sure you file a 2021 return. You will need to enter your child's Social Security number in My Info in order to claim your child to get the CTC.
