After you file
We cannot answer you since you have not included any information about the dependent you added or when you amended. But if you are looking for the monthly payments, you will not get them. Having an amended return in the system affects your eligibility to get the monthly CTC payments. And there is only one more monthly payment to go--on December 15. After that, you need to get the CTC as part of your refund on your 2021 return. It takes about six months or more for the IRS to process an amended return, so do not expect quick results from amending.
If you forgot to include a dependent on your 2020 return, then when the IRS processes your amended 2020 return you may receive the CTC under the tax laws in effect for the CTC on a 2020 return. The new higher amount is really for 2021, so you can seek that on your 2021 return by entering your eligible dependent.
