Do an amend on each return, but don't file it. The amend will show if there is a refund coming. The last I heard from an IRS employee was that they are attempting to complete all of those refunds by mid December. Filing an amend is not recommended and might hold things up longer. Being your dependent is not an issue. If they overpaid, then it will be refundded.
