YOU MUST WAIT for the IRS to process the original return BEFORE you send in an amended return no matter what mistakes you have made that is the rule. It is possible the IRS will question the return and hold it up in processing and send you a notice in the mail. Right now the ball is in their court and you must wait for them to make the next move.
