It is unusual but this year you may get the original refund and then the extra corrected amount for the Unemployment change later in a separate check. Missing $500 even sounds like the stimulus credit correction for line 30 of the 1040 ... $500 was the amount for a child on the first stimulus payment so did you enter the wrong amount received on the first go around? If so the IRS caught the error.
