After you file
The only emails you would receive from TurboTax is when you e-file, you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your e-file. You can check your e-file status here online e-file status lookup tool, to ensure your return was accepted by the IRS.
After your return is accepted by the IRS you would track your refund on the IRS website. For the most up to date information on your refund, you can track your federal refund here: Where's My Refund? which provides your status and a specific, personalized date for your tax refund once available. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.
The IRS issues most refunds in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. Please see the TurboTax FAQ below for additional information:

If it has been more than 21 days since your return was accepted, you can contact the IRS directly by following the instructions below:
To contact the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don’t enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.
