After you file

@xmasbaby0

THANK YOU!!!

I've been calling for days to only get an "excessive call volume" message that directs me to try again later then disconnects.

In all of my researching, you have provided an intelligent answer that prompts me to toss you a nutshell of our situation for any insights you may have.

Illness forced me out of work in 2018, so last year was the one and only year I did not file, and all I get on the tracker is Tax Topic 152.

I had to start using a identity PIN about 6-7 years ago for a delay due to a possible fraud attempt, without any further issues since. Seeing as we raise our deceased daughters 2 children and only had my husbands disability income in 2019, we were dependant on our grown sons income so we had him file claiming the 2 children. (FYI: Yes, he did live here and my husband is the 4th, my son the 5th).

However, he moved out of state last year, so I resumed filing this year.

We received our 1st stimulus without issue, but not our 2nd, so we had to file for the credit when we e filed February 12th. Needless to say, we haven't received the 3rd either.

As stated, I haven't been able to reach the IRS by phone, and can not access my original tax account with them as we do not have any current active loan or CC numbers that's required for identity verification. When asked to choose the alternative option using my phone, I am told to create a new account as I do not have the same phone number I created the account with, which of course I can not do for the 1st reason I stated regarding identity verification and lack of

 current loan/CC numbers.

My research has led me here, in hopes of gaining some insight because it is my understanding that TTax has no further information beyond the initial "accepted" update after filing.

I would appreciate any thoughts you may have as to why we are having a delay, only getting TTopic 152 with no further instructions. I have read that topic on the IRS site, which states you are getting your refund, it just may be delayed due to IRS needing extra time to look at and approve it. However other thread comments state differently, indicating further action of some sort or another on their part was needed after all.

Thanks for the step by step phone direction and thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have. It's very much appreciated.
