Why do you need to take them off? Don't they qualify? If their return rejected because you claimed them and they don't qualify as your dependent they will have to mail their return this year. So they don't have to wait for you to amend.
But if they do qualify as your dependent and you don't claim them they still have to say they CAN be claimed in their return.
