After you file

  • If you’re not able to print:

  • Try printing a PDF of your return.
    • If you saved a PDF of your 2018 or prior year return, locate the PDF on your computer and print it.
    • If you didn't save a PDF of your return or you can't find it:
      • For a 2018 return:
        1. Open your return in the TurboTax program.
        2. Click the File menu in the upper left.
        3. Now select Save to PDF. (Be sure to note where you save the PDF on  your computer for future reference).
        4. Open the PDF and print it.

Troubleshooting Steps

Follow these steps in the order given:
  1. Make sure your printer's drivers and computer's operating system are up-to-date.
  2. Make sure your TurboTax software is up-to-date.
  3. Make sure the printer you're using is your default printer.
  4. Remove all other devices (external or thumb drives, scanners, etc.) which can sometimes interfere with printers.
  5. Shut your computer and printer down for 15-30 seconds, and then turn them back on.
  6. If your printer is on a network, try a direct connection to a printer using a cable.
