Assuming you followed the instructions for properly amending a tax return, you need to print, sign and mail in the amended return for it to be processed, they cannot be Efiled.
Once the IRS receives the amended return it can take upwards of 16 weeks for it to complete processing and any additional refund to be issued.
After 4 or 5 weeks (the website says 3 weeks, but that's not realistic with the current IRS backlog) you can follow its progress here:
