After you file
From what I found out after doing some research:
The IRS sent out stimulus payments as a refund instead of stimulus payment so they routed the funds to tax companies bank products such as Republic, Santa Barbara & Meta Bank the banks sent them back to the IRS because they're not being compensated for issuing out stimulus payments so now the IRS has to send them to whatever bank account you filed your taxes with or if you received a tax check your stimulus will be mailed out.
With that said I assume that’s why people are getting checks mailed or seeing different account number info when they check the Get My Payment on the IRS website. I’m hoping this gets confirmed and listed in FAQ.
