After you file

@trieun87 If you want to know that an envelope you mailed to the IRS was received, you need to use a mailing service that tracks it and lets you know it was received--like certified mail.  Otherwise, you will not know.  The IRS does not "let you know" that an envelope arrived and went into a pile in a trailer--which is what happened with millions of pieces of mail received during the pandemic.

Frustrating--but all you can do is wait until your amended return makes it to the surface and gets entered into the system.  Then you will be able to see something on the IRS site.

Processing Delays for Paper Tax Returns: Taxpayers should file electronically through their tax preparer, tax software provider, or IRS Free File

We’re experiencing delays in processing paper tax returns due to limited staffing. If you already filed a paper return, we will process it in the order we received it.

Do not file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.

Amended returns are taking at least 6 months for processing.
