If you used online TurboTax you did not have a "filing fee." The fees are the same whether you e-file or snail mail. The fee is for using the software to prepare your tax return--there is no extra fee to e-file it. The only time there is any e-file fee at all is if you use desktop (CD/download) software--then there is a fee for e-filing only the state return.
You have not said what your e-filing issue was so we do not know if you will have the same problem again. Some e-file problems are "un-fixable" -- like duplicate Social Security numbers or wrong AGI or PIN's. Some rejection issues can be fixed and the return can then be e-filed.
