After you file
If it's been less than 21 days since your return was accepted, check the IRS Where's My Refund? site for your refund status. After 21 days, we suggest contacting the IRS directly. Go here for tips on how to reach a live IRS agent.
Keep in mind, if you claimed the EIC (Earned Income Credit) or ACTC (Additional Child Tax Credit), the IRS expects the first of these refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards by the first week of March.
