My hard drive crashed and I lost my turbo tax file. Can I reinstall it from turbo tax?

If you did not have a back up copy of the tax data file then it cannot be recovered.

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

If you need the TurboTax software and you purchased the software from TurboTax as a download then it will be in your download account for up to three years from the date of purchase.  You can download the TurboTax installation file at any time, for any reason at no charge - https://shopping.turbotax.intuit.com/unified/downloads?route=myaccounts

If you purchased a CD of the TurboTax software then you will need to contact TurboTax support and see if the support agent will push an installation file to your download account at no charge.

Support is open from 5am to 5pm Pacific time, Monday thru Friday
