After you file
An amended federal tax return, Form 1040X, can only be printed, signed, dated and mailed by you to the IRS, it can Never be e-filed. Once the IRS receives the mailed amended tax return the status of the amended return will be available on the IRS website for amended returns here - https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return
If you did not print and mail the amended return, then nothing was sent to the IRS. Unless you are referring to changing your original tax return after it was rejected and then e-filing the tax return. Then you would have received an email message from TurboTax for the status of the tax return being either Accepted or Rejected.
Or you e-filed the original tax return and it was accepted by the IRS, then you changed the original tax return that was filed and tried to e-file again. The e-file would be rejected since the original tax return had already been accepted by the IRS. So only the original return was sent and Nothing you changed on the return has been delivered to the IRS.
Use this TurboTax website to check the status of an e-filed return and if it was either accepted or rejected - https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
