After you file

Is this for 2018 or for an earlier year?  TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after you file your tax return, so no one at TT knows what the state says about the amount you owe.  Did your state tax return show that you owed?  Did you pay when you filed?  Your only proof of payment would be your own bank/credit card record.  It is NOT possible to pay a state tax due from a federal refund, so if you made the mistake of thinking your federal refund paid NE, you still owe the state.  Most states want you to pay by mailing a check or money order, or by going on the state's tax website.

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support.   At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support".  Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter.  Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.
