If you were using the TurboTax online editions for tax year 2017 and did not complete the return, then you will need to have the 2017 TurboTax software installed on a personal computer and the tax data file from the online edition to complete the tax return.
If you paid for one of the 2017 online editions of either Plus, Deluxe, Premier or Self-Employed then you have access to all prior year online accounts through October 2019. Provided that you are signing onto the online account using the exact same User ID used to create the prior year account.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download .tax file
To open the 2017 tax data file that was download, you need to start the TurboTax 2017 program software installed on your personal computer. Click on the File menu at the top left of the program screen. Click on Open Tax Return. Browse to the location where you download the tax data file which has a file extension of .tax2017
