@David Harvey Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS and you file another tax return with the exact same Social Security number and name that second tax return will be rejected by the IRS, no exceptions.
Use this website and look at the date/time the return was filed and the date it was accepted by the IRS, are the dates in March or are they in August - https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
