After you file

Does the IRS say they did not receive your 2017 tax return or that they did not receive a payment of tax due for 2017 from you?  If you owed tax for 2017 then only your own bank/credit card records would show proof that you paid.  If your TT account shows that you did not file an accepted 2017 return, and you owe tax due, then print the return, sign it and mail it ASAP with your payment of the tax due shown on the return.  Then you can expect a bill later for the accrued late penalty and interest, which will be calculated by the IRS.  If you  are getting a tax refund, there will be no penalty for filing late.
