After you file
The requirement is that you need to pay for one of the TurboTax 2018 online editions of either Plus, Deluxe, Premier or Self-Employed so that you can access the prior year online accounts. Since you purchased the 2016 Premier desktop edition, you will need to contact TurboTax support for assistance in retrieving the 2016 tax data file from the 2016 online account.
Support is closed on the weekends.
