After you file
Per the IRS: Mailing an income tax return to the wrong Internal Revenue Service Center or otherwise misaddressing the return could delay the processing of the return and any refund. More details can be found here https://www.irs.gov/irb/2007-15_IRB/ar09.html
So if you mailed it to the wrong address, it will slow things down a bit. But it will be forwarded to the right address.
You can try giving them a call once it’s been at least 6 weeks since you mailed and at that time, you can reach them at the IRS tax refund hotline at 800-829-4477, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. But if mailed to wrong address, you may want to give it a little more time. The 6 weeks is in place if you mailed it to the correct address.
