After you file
But don't be tempted to send the resulting unencrypted PDF file via email. Email is insecure. You could burn the file to a CD if your PC has a disk writer, or you could put the file on a USB thumb drive and mail it.
There is an add-on feature in Adobe Reader which allows encryption and password protection of PDF files. This is an extra-cost feature, but it has a free trial, hint, hint.
