What does Turbotax charge for filing an amended return?

I forgot to report a W2 on my 2015 taxes, once I receive the refund from the original filed taxes & I file an amended return I am curious if I will be charged another fee?

After you file

No, unless you need to upgrade to a higher version to add something.  But you won't need to upgrade for a W2.

If it was Accepted,  you need to wait for your return to be fully processed and you get the first refund or your tax due payment has cleared.   Then you can mail in an amended return.  Do NOT change anything yet on your return until you start the amended return.   If you have changed it then take out the changes and put it back to the way it was when you originally filed.  You can fill out the amended return now but  it won't be ready to print it out  until mid-Feb

How to Amend

You will get your original refund and get to keep it. When you go through the amendment section it asks you how much you paid or got back on the original return so be sure to enter it. Then the amended return will only show the difference you get back or need to pay. You can confirm this by printing your amendment and looking at the 1040X. Line 17 should be your original refund amount and line 20 should be your additional refund.  If you paid on your original return it will be on line 15.  If there is an amount owed with the amendment, it will be on line 19.

After you file

I have filed my tax return on 01/26/2020. I`ve red a notice at the end says that the e-file is not available and it will be available in February so I took the other option (mailing) and I didn`t know I have to print and fill the documents then send them by mail. I didnt print anything yet. I need an advice, should I wait till February then amend to e-file (recommended in turbotax) ? Go to H & R Block and amend to e-file which will cost me more money, or I should download turbotax CD and work on it ? I guess I should wait till February. I need your advice please.

Thanks in advance.

After you file

If you have neither efiled nor mailed, then you have not filed.  Therefore you do not need to amend.  you can go back into your return and change from mail to efile.  If you were told you have to wait it is most likely because one of the forms you need has not been finalized by the IRS yet.  You will be able to efile when it is ready.
